Yar's strike




description :

Yar's strike is a remake of the classic Yar's revenge from the atari 2600, but then for 
the atari 400/800/XL/XE computers. It features 8 levels before yar is finally safe 
home....

Goal :

The primay objective is to break a path through the shield and destroy Qotile with a blast from the Zorlon cannon. The secondary objective is to score as many points as possible !

The shield (at the right(brown) is made up of cells. The yar scout can destroy these cells by shooting at them. Once a path has been cleared through the shield the Zorlon cannon must be used to destroy the Qotitle(up/down going at the right(or flying!). 

To call up the Cannon, you can eat a cell from the shield (fly against the shield until a cell disappears) or run over the Qotile when it's not spinning.

The zorlon cannon appears on the left side of the screen, and moves in a direct line with Yar. It's important to aim the cannon at the Qotile, fire it (by pressing trigger) and fly out of the way !

Also, periodically the Qotile transform into a swirl (spinning!) This swirl Winds up and rushes off after Yar !

Then there's the flying Destroyer missile : It will follow yar, and when it hits yar he dies...

The only safe place for Yar is at the Neatral zone(the glittering path down the center of the screen), the missile cannot hit yar at this place.




Levels:


The game feautures 8 levels.

level 1 : normal shield
level 2 : rotating shield
level 3 : recovering shield
level 4 : rotating and recovering shield

level 5-8 everything is getting a bit harder !

After finishing these levels, the end screen will come in.




Scoring :

eat a cell 			:3 points
shoot a cell 			:1 point
zorlon cannon hits a cell	:2 points
Shooting Qotile			:80 points
