›FACE-UP PATIENCE›by Bryan Zillwood›››Are you bored with the lack of skill in usual patience/solitaire type card games? If so then Face-Up Patience is just for you.››Face-Up is so called because all the cards are dealt out face-up at the start of the game. The objective, as in the usual patience game, is to form four piles of cards seperated into their suits and put in order with the ace at the bottom and the king at the top.››A joystick plugged into the first port is used as the controller. Cards can be picked up by positioning the cursor over the appropriate card and pressing the button. To drop the card just find a legal space and press the button again. If you make a mistake you will hear a buzzer and any card picked up will be returned to it's original position. If you get stuck then just press the Start key to deal again.››The rules are listed below:››* There are four free spaces, positioned at the top left of the screen. You can move a card to these spaces at any time and, as long as there is somewhere else to put it, a card can be removed from this area.››* Once a card has been put on one of the four stacks it cannot be removed.››* Only the bottom card of each column in the table can be moved. The program will only allow you to do this anyway.››* As in normal patience, in the table of cards, a red two goes on a black three, a black jack goes on a red queen etc.››* When a column is empty only a king can be put there.››Hints:››* Keep the free spaces free as much as possible.››* Get the aces and low cards onto the stacks as soon as possible but don't let one suit get too far ahead of the others.››* Clear a couple of columns as soon as you can, put kings there and then try to build down.››I hope you like Face-Up Patience because there is much more thinking and skill required than in similar games. Almost always can a game be completed as long as it is played correctly. Enjoy!›
